Ryan Niedenthal

I was born in Apple Valley, MN to a pair of public school teachers. I grew up surrounded by music, and took to it young. I began piano lessons as a child, and continued onto other instruments soon after.

I didn't truly pick up musical theatre until high school, but it's been off to the races since then. Since then, I've had the privilege to work at the Minnesota Fringe Festival, premiering two new renditions of Turnabout!, an Ace Attorney Musical, and to spend a summer performing in the pines of Quisisana Resort in Center Lovell, ME.

When I'm not performing, you can find me glued to whatever Minnesota sports team is playing at the moment (#Skol #WolvesBack) or outside trying to play whatever sports I can. I'm a big fan of basketball, volleyball, or just about any racquet sport you can name (though I have a soft spot in my heart for tennis).

Fun Facts

I love sketch comedy! I'm often thinking up new sketch ideas in my downtime.

I am a Type-1 Diabetic! This means I am unable to create my own insulin, and instead need to inject it regularly.

I do music transcriptions in my free time! I love everything I present to be uniform in format, even down to my audition materials. Therefore, I make all of my materials myself!

In high school, I was a member of the MYJB Jazz Ensemble, one of the largest youth jazz ensembles in Minnesota!

I love video games! Whether it's playing competitively with friends, or just a relaxing game of chess online, I always enjoy a good video game.

My music taste is quite eclectic. My go-to playlists range from Musical Theatre to Jazz to Rap/Hip-hop, and I can cycle through those on a day-to-day basis.
